Fabiana and old friends

Have had my old art director and now long-time friend fabian a staying with me this weekend. It has been such a nice weekend, too.

There is something about an old friend, someone that knows you deeply and is still there for you, that's very different to old friends who enter and come onto our journey a little sooner. I don't know what it is.

Anyway, she arrive friday evening and we went for a wander, ate a burger at my 'newly found' burger bar, and then we went along to winston kingdom, just because we could. We watched an old Nirvana tribute band and had a couple of drinks, had a dance and were still in bed at a pretty decent hour.

Yesterday was brunch at Bakkerswinkel, before wandering up the harlemmerstraat to The Movies, and to meet jen. I tried the chocolate shop (that's what it's called!!), we had tea, cake and chocolates there, and then went to watch the film 'the session', pretty interesting film it was too.

Fabi and I had dinner booked at Trouw, and stayed afterwards for a bit for the music. Actually the night seemed pretty good, except that we both ate way too much and then neither of us felt much like dancing - a bit of swaying hips was going on but by around 2am we both gave up, jumped in a  taxi and came home.

Today was meeting Jeff and Cate, we wandered along to Lovefood, but it was full, so we went to Greenwood\s instead. And luckily for the first time ever got a table pretty much straight away (and a big one at that!!!), and stayed there for a good few hours. We were having so much fun with Jeff and Cate that we all walked up to Museumplein and picked up skates, and then went skating there. That was also fun - something I didn't know about Fabi is that she absolutely loves skating...we had a blast. Cate got tired a bit early, and so we met them back at home later on and got treated to a film preview of 'Barbar'.

Tonight we had takeaway and watched Lemony Snicketts film, also fun just to chill - we're both tired having spent the most part of today outside.

Like I said, SUCH a nice weekend with friends...

Next weekend I have my mum staying, so another lovely weekend with someone!!
