The threiplands have arrived in Amsterdam!
So nice to have the family here, been rushing around buying food and the like since they got here (and before) and have quite some strange tiredness hangover from going out last night and drinking red wine with Micala, some of the Iris boys and then Gwen. Learned some interesting things about Gwen from last night, which would never have guessed from just knowing her 'at parties' as I do at the moment.
Not a lot else has happened this week - work has been much more bearable since I handed in the notice - in fact had my end of year career review yesterday that ended up being an exit interview and was good to get a few things off my chest. Ingeborg surprisingly understanding, and really have been making the effort to network more with her and some of the others and that's made all that feel much better as well. She's ok if she likes you!
Weds had Roger, Jamie and Bas' leaving do, stayed til about 11, was nice - was sat chatting to Jen for quite alot of time, she has been having second thoughts about her man, but not yet ready to call it quits, wants to see what happens. So we'll see there I guess. She wants to come out more next year which is good.
Weds lunchtime we went out for a SF lunch that Harri organised, that got about 25 people going, which was really nice - reminded me of back in the day of MC!
Lots of christmas shopping and wrapping and getting stuff ready here otherwise, it's been a much tamer christmas party season that I'm used to, was last year as well - people don't party as hard here as in London, but not missed it really. Have missed the girls (had a lovely catch up with Anna last night).
And guess what? Beth got engaged, wooot! Could see that one coming a mile off so wasn't very surprised, and she's really happy so that's awesome. Hope to see her and take her out for a drink when I'm back in March, before she goes to Hong Kong....such an exciting year for her then next year. And a wedding to go for, for me.
